Hello, I’m Chrissy!
Thank you for being here.
For me, yoga is a way of life.
It is a way of coming into a deeper relationship with myself and finding greater health and well-being through self love, compassion and care.
Yes, it is about spending time on my yoga mat and learning to move my body well, to breathe well, to relax and calm the mind with meditation and relaxation practices.
And...
It is also about eating well, sleeping well, establishing healthy boundaries and rhythms to truly support and care for myself, and cultivating nourishing relationships so that I can experience well-being, inner stability and deeper connection with myself and others.
Essentially, yoga encompasses all the little and big things that make up our daily life!
It’s empowering when we learn to take control of our health, our well-being and our own healing.
Yoga is also self-love and care.
Having lived with chronic migraines and pain for many years, and having struggled with anxiety and depression that came with chronic pain, I can honestly say that the teachings and practices of yoga are what brought me back to life.
I had stopped listening to the signals that my body and nervous system were sending me - overriding the sensations that were telling me that I was pushing too hard, that I was running on empty and that I was not honouring my needs. I had stopped communicating with, and caring for, myself.
Pushing through pain and ignoring how I was feeling became normal for me. I needed a new lens to understand myself and my experience - I found that through yoga, Ayurveda, mindfulness and meditation.
Compassionate curiosity.
These teachings helped me understand what true self-care looked like and brought me back into my body in a mindful, curious and compassionate way. I started to listen and cultivate a new relationship with myself. One based on love, care compassion and acceptance.
When not on my mat, you can find me in the mountains.
It’s been a long road to healing and also one of the most rewarding and empowering lessons that life has brought me.
My devotion to yoga as a way of life, arose from the deep desire to alleviate my own pain and suffering, something that I once felt I had no control over, and to establish healthy and compassionate self-care routines.
That doesn't mean discomfort, pain and suffering have disappeared. What I can say is that my relationship with it has changed. My physical and mental health is strong and stable and I consciously and intentionally welcome joy, contentment and ease. I have learned to listen and respond to how I am feeling in a compassionate way and learned the skills of pacing to manage my energy and support my emotional well-being.
Thank you for being here! If you would like to work with me, please connect with me! I would love to walk this journey with you.
