Deep Relaxation & Yoga Nidra

​This is a weekly drop in class to explore breathing and relaxation techniques to move into deeper states of relaxation and connection with ourselves.

Yoga nidra really is a practice of self healing and deep presence. It helps us see ourselves more clearly and helps us learn to let go of our deeper holding patterns that stop us from living life fully, in a wholehearted way.

The key to this is balancing the nervous system, moving out of the stress response and into relaxation, where we can explore from a calm, compassionate and curious place. In this way, we create a safe space within ourselves for exploration and healing.

Yoga Nidra provides nourishment and rest to all levels of our being, promoting overall health and well-being. We create understanding and a deeper connection in this space of relaxation.

​We all need more rest; conscious rest and replenishment where we can shift out of "doing" mode and into "being" mode.

Class starts with a discussion of yoga philosophy to create context and understanding for our practices. We then move into breathing practices before settling into a 30 minute guided relaxation and yoga nidra practice done laying down.

* Students receive an audio recording of the practices to practice with for the week.

** If you cannot attend, you will also receive the audio recording of the group discussion.

Down regulate the nervous system to cultivate resiliency and healing.

This class is designed to help you unwind from the day, releasing accumulated tension and stress and soothe the nervous system so that you can move into a place of deep relaxation to promote healing. Prepare for a restful sleep and set the tone for your week by cultivating calm and ease in body, breath and mind.

Class will begin with breath work to calm the nervous system, then move into 30 minutes of gentle movement with mindful breathing and finish with 30-40 minutes of yoga nidra practices in shavasana.

We also explore ayurveda principles and tips to compliment your yoga and relaxation practices.
