Mindfulness as Self-care
As many of you know I am super passionate about mindfulness and bringing it into our daily life as a tool for enhancing our overall health and well being.
Over the years, it has helped me deal with chronic pain as well as anxiety and depression as I have moved through different life experiences.
Mindfulness has helped me stay on top of my self care when I have found feelings of overwhelm creeping in; when I feel tired, over-extended or anxious.
It has also helped me feel more alive; to cultivate deeper connections in my relationships; to embrace gratitude and the gifts that life has to offer; to find joy in simple moments and awaken to the beauty of nature on a deeper level.
We are living, breathing, relational beings and mindfulness helps us really feel into this, to lean in and embrace our wholeness to cultivate greater health and well being.
Through mindfulness we can develop skills to enhance our self awareness and in that, manage our thoughts, feelings and emotions to create stability, balance and harmony.
Mindfulness is a whole being practice.. and a whole life practice.
It brings us into relationship with the present moment, with ourselves, others and the world / environment around us.
We can take it with us everywhere we go, in each moment, to feel alive and connected to life… to connect with life itself.
And in that connection we can embrace the good, the not so good, the pleasant, the not so pleasant, the challenges, the expectations, the celebrations, the disappointments, the goodness, the fullness - EVERYTHING - that life has to offer… with compassion and grace.
Mindfulness really is a lifelong practice. And each day is the perfect opportunity to start anew.
